Taylor King
Hi
I am Taylor King; I am a freestyle skier from New Zealand. I started skiing at
the start of 2006 at Snow Planet. I enjoyed it so much I decided to take up the
sport full time. My passion for the sport started to build and I found my self
skiing every day.
At the start of last year I was selected to travel and train in the USA with the NZ
Junior Development team. During the training I was able to compete at an international competition, The Aspen Open. These opportunities gave me an unforgettable experience and reinforced my passion for skiing.
Taylor manly skies in the South Island at Cardrona and Snowpark. At the level Taylor is at he needs to focus on going to the Northern
Hemisphere for their season to get the experience and time on snow.
Achievements Include: New Zealand Development Team 2008/2009, 4th place Big Air NZ Winter Games 09, 2nd place half pipe – Junior Naitonals 09, 2nd place
skier cross– Junior National 09, 1st place Slope style – Junior Nationals 09, 1st Place Winter Olympics open mens – Snowplanet 09;
Awarded the NZ Bolle Young Gun Award 2008 and More recently competed in the Volkl freeski open in slope style placing 14th with the top NZ result.
