Bluetooth controlled heated socks
SEGER RECENTLY LAUNCHED THE SEGER HEAT SYSTEM
In high-end quality socks that let wearers regulate the heat via smartphones. The system works like this: when the socks are manufactured, fine metal thread inside the yarn is knitted into the socks to conduct heat to the toes. The heat comes from batteries that are attached to the tops of the socks.
Smartphones control the socks’ temperatures via a simple app that enables wireless connection (Bluetooth®) to the socks’ batteries. The heat is incrementally adjusted and may be adapted for the left and right foot.
POWER, HEAT, AND LIFE.
The small batteries are fastened under elastic bands using two magnets that are affixed to the batteries’ poles. Power is supplied from the batteries via knitted-in contact points to the conductive thread that moves the heat into the toes. A vibration function in each battery lets wearers know when it’s on or off and when temperatures are adjusted. Battery life is up to 8 hours, depending on selected temperatures.
